Kids, Cereal and Onions

It's the end of an era.

We are no longer buying cold cereal.  I cannot remember a time in my life when there has not been cereal in the cupboard.  And since we've had kids, cereal has always been stored on the lowest shelf, so they can help themselves.

No cereal.

And tomorrow no kids.  Way too many goodbyes.

So today, the basket of onions and garlic from the garden has a new home.  And we work to fill that emptiness in our hearts, to find new directions and blessings and dreams.

    1. Homemade granola COUNTS! It's now in a big glass storage jar on the counter. =)

  2. My heart feels for you. Just said goodbyes to my daughter and grandkids....they moved nearly 200 miles away. We just have to find our new normal. Hugs and blessings for you.

    1. We are so happy for all the kids, but it kinda stinks on this side. =( I remind myself how good it is that our hearts are being torn, that we love them and want to be around them so much that we will miss them like nobody's business.

  3. This missing business is like an itch that won't go away. I agree being happy for them and proud and slightly amazed at having raised them to this point eases the pain.
