Tea and Teens

It seems I'm going to be needing more of these lovely, quiet tea moments in my future, but the question will be how.  And when.

After raising two kids and enjoying several others we still claim as our own, we have now officially added 20 more that will be hanging around.  As in 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-20!!!

Our ugly couches will be put to more use.  Our cupboards will swiftly be laid bare. The carpet will undoubtedly need more vacuuming and we will definitely be getting less sleep.  We are very excited... and scared out of our wits.  =)

  2. 20??? Wow. Does your heart even fit inside your chest anymore? Lots of hugs to you and always make room for a quiet tea, even if it is only 5 minutes.

  5. I don't know quite what you mean -- 20 new kids? Fostering? Adopting? Youth group? Whatever it is, blessings to you and your family as you reach out and draw others into a place of love and safety! That's wonderful. May God give you all the strength you'll need to do this good thing.

  6. It is a youth group we are stepping into! Because teens require as much quantitative as qualitative time, we expect to have kids in and out of our home pretty much all of the time. Sir Bradley's the funny one that everyone gravitates to. I'm the one baking the cakes and quietly orchestrating everything...perhaps like a director in the orchestra pit??! =) But as many of you can attest to, sometimes there are really, really important conversations that go on in the kitchen!
