Funny how the earthquakes and disasters seem far so away until there's a personal connection. But suddenly everything became very close as we realized our dear friends' future son-in-law is right there in Kathmandu. We waited what seemed like forever to hear from them.
He was able to make three very short calls home to let everyone know he is OK. It has been chaos. So many quakes and aftershocks. No electricity, no water. Sleeping in tents on the streets, even in the rain.
Good news came this morning. The agency he is with has sent over help and supplies, and they are making the shift from victims to responders. Amazing.
Our prayers go up for all of the people there.
