Dreams and a Vacation

It's been pouring down rain for what seems like a billion years, but there is always hope we'll see sunny skies and cherry blossoms again.  Can't stop dreaming now!

Speaking of dreams, Paris is now officially 6 months away, and my packing list is in progress!!!  Oh, there is so much to plan, and I'm relishing every moment.

It's time for a blog vacation, but I'll be checking in with you so I'm not completely out of touch. Hugs to you all. =)

Keep dreaming!

OK, one more spot of color to share.  A quick lunchtime walk at work and I was shocked to see every single rosemary bush along the way in bloom.  At home (in the highlands - you know, God's country!), we seem to be a few weeks behind.

...and Yellow

Oh, there is color returning!  I swear, we're all starved for spring.

A Blue (But Happy) Valentine's Week!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner but this is one girl who hardly cares for pink or red.  This year blue's the color.  Such a beautiful sky - we can't get enough of it!

Feeling Spring

After months of rain, it was finally clear and sunny...and in the Northwest, that means everyone and his brother headed outside, including us.  It was glorious!  Do you see this beech tree branch?  Those are BUDS.  Spring might just come!!

Hope. Springs. Eternal.

Seen On Satellite

Friends needed to look up our address...and Google Maps actually showed a street view with a wood pile in our front driveway.  Seriously??!! Knowing Sir Bradley, they were correct in their assumption they had located our house.

I'm hoping the sunshine will return and last of the wood will finally be split, stacked, and less visible to the world.  =)

Changing the World

I want to change the world.

There - I've said it!  It's a slow-burning, but steady desire that's been hidden away in the depths of my soul for so many years.  For whatever reason, I think it's time to figure this one out now.  Perhaps instead of "Extraordinary Living, Ordinary Life," what I'm seeking is "Extraordinary Life, Ordinary Living."  Let me know if any of you have figured something out along those lines!

Here is one inspiring story of a UK mom who is not only helping meet a physical need for tens of thousands of women but creating jobs as well.  Brilliant!  I can't say I want to be involved in a "nappie" program, but I am wowed by this woman's ingenuity and determination.

You HAVE to read about this mom.  She's amazing and deserves a prize.

Christmas Cactus

I have a friend who waters and smiles.

I, on the other hand, nurture, tend, water, fuss, fertilize, and prune.  And yet my thumb is the color of, well, a thumb.

But this week, after many years, my little Christmas cactus decided to burst out with color.  LOVE IT!  Woohoo!

Snow Dog

It was a fabulous hike in the woods with Elsie and Sir Bradley.  Everything looks so different with each season.

This is the hurry-up-I'm-waiting-for-you look!

Resolutions, Anyone?

So did any of you make New Year's resolutions?  Please share!

Personally, I adore resolutions.  Thinking through them purposefully and writing them down multiplies my will power and focus by about a kazillion times.  And now that my heart is strong there are so many new possibilities to consider!

Daily resolutions...
1.  Move.
2.  Eat well.
3.  Limit sugar.
4.  Give thanks.

And for the year...
5.  Dream big.
6.  Hike Dog Mountain.
7.  Fly to France.

Little Hummer

It was a dreamy, wintery white Sunday, followed by freezing rain...preventing many of us from working today.  And so it has been a delightful morning at home.

Headed out with my camera to capture the scenes, I spied a little hummer. He patiently waited for me to move on so he could fly up to the feeder.  He was the dearest little thing!
